^ that’s me, and I still cannot believe it.  I haven’t actually wrote a blog post in probably over a year… so if this is wrote more like an essay rather than a blog, please forgive me. This isn’t my area of expertise in the world… (hah). 2013 was meant to be my year; I had been saying it for years. 13 really is my lucky number and I knew of some pretty crazy once-in-a-lifetime experiences were going to happen. Never in my wildest dreams did I think this past week was going to pan out the way that it did. In fact, I didn’t think this week was going to happen.
I didn’t get Conan tickets, or LA tickets for Paramore. I like to believe that good things happen to good people, or maybe I just have amazing friends. I ended up acquiring tickets to both Conan and the LA show, along with the Vegas tickets I actually was able to get. Paramore ended up not playing at Conan, which was a bit of a bummer, but I still saw CONAN. Seriously can’t be upset at all about that. I was also given passes to go hang out at Warner Bros that day with Lacey (http://lackyannie.tumblr.com) thanks to idkhertumblrTristin, and got sorted by the real sorting hat. Don’t ask what house I got sorted into, because I strongly believe it is wrong. I have not lived a lie for 10+ years. I now have so many awesome pics of me in front of sets, like Elvira’s house. I don’t know how to describe it, but it was definitely a great day even if I didn’t get to see Paramore perform. The next day was the LA show. If it wasn’t for Tony and Alicia, I wouldn’t have been able to go. Both of these people got extra tickets, and I was able to get them from them. They also both won a meet and greet! I took my good friend Kayla with me, and since they both won meet and greets, we all got to meet the band. This was Kayla’s FIRST Paramore show, so that made it even more exciting for her, and me since I could literally see all the excitement. I was of course excited as well. I often get asked if I ever get bored of seeing the band, or why it would still be exciting to meet the band. If you have ever seen or met the band, you know how I feel. They’re amazing people who put an incredible show. The meet and greet went great. (I hate talking about conversations because it’s always “and then he was like”, and “I was like..”, so I’m going to skip over all of that). After the meet and greet, we got to go into the venue, and Kayla, Alicia, and I got barricade in front of Taylor. I knew it was going to be memorable, but mostly because I got to experience a Paramore show with people who I have never experienced one with before. Kitten came on, and they’re great at what they do. Just their style really isn’t my thing. They definitely have the potential to make it big. Once their set was over, we all were so excited. One thing I LOVE about the Wiltern is the limited pit. They only allow so many people in the front pit, so it doesn’t get crazy/nobody gets hurt. There was a bit of pushing, but nothing like it would be if everyone could be in the pit. The show started out with Moving On. I have loved the interludes, especially Moving On because it’s exactly how I feel about a few personal situations going on in my life. The show couldn’t have started out better. The set list overall was completely perfect. We were all singing along, going crazy, and just having so much fun. There was nothing else in the world for that 90 minutes except my friends whom I was next to on the barricade and Paramore. At one point Jeremy came over and threw me a pick (which I am going to make into a necklace hopefully later on today). Once ‘Whoa’ was over, Hayley started to bring fans up on stage for Anklebiters. She came over and told security to get me first. AHH all that was going through my head was “Is this seriously happening?!” I mean I had been on stage in 2010 for Misery Business.. I NEVER thought I’d get to experience that again. The best part was that some of my friends got up there as well. Laura and Renee, who have travelled from AUSTRALIA for the ENTIRE tour, both got up on stage. It made me a lot less nervous having friends up with me. I LOVE the videos of it, because it was just so much fun. Anklebiters has a great message, and it’s a perfect song for Paramore to have fans up on stage for. After it, we got to stand side stage to watch That’s What You Get and Still Into You. While side stage, Jeremy threw me another pick, but I gave this one to Renee as it was her birthday. Once it was time for the encore we had to get off the stage, so I went to the back and hung out with one of my friends who was in the back of the crowd. Proof was seriously perfect live.. After the show, I met back up with Kayla and Alicia and talked to a lot of my friends. They all were so stoked for me, but I was stoked for them too because for Chad and Kayla, it was their first Paramore show. I wanted to make sure they had an amazing time. I honestly believed NOTHING would ever top that night…. But then Vegas happened. Before the Vegas show though, I had to go to school to present a paper I had wrote. I had all my luggage in my car, I was dressed like I was going to be in a car for 5 hours. Basically I looked like shit, and was ready to go, but I went to class and presented. Of course I killed the presentation. When class ended, I left for Vegas! Made friends with some Aliens along the way. Got to Vegas around 3, and the fun began shortly thereafter. There is KISS mini golf, that I of course had to do. I mean hitting a golf ball up Gene Simmon’s tongue is something everyone should experience once in their life…  This was also the first time I had been to Vegas since turning 21, and while I didn’t gamble at all, I did enjoy a few drinks. I don’t know what exactly a “drum solo” is at Hard Rock, but those are really good and I suggest you all have one sometime in your life. But because I had driven into Vegas, I was pretty tired and wanted to be well rested for the next night. Going into the Vegas show, I knew I shouldn’t have any expectations because LA was so perfect. Nothing was going to top LA. People were joking with me that I’d get on stage again, but I knew that wasn’t a reality. Early on in the day, Laura, Renee, and I got to talk to Justin York for a little bit. I had never met him before, so that was pretty cool. I had won a meet and greet for this show since I had bought my own tickets, so I took Alicia with me to meet the band again. One of my best friends that I met because of Paramore, Caroline, was also at this show and won a meet and greet as well. Hayley couldn’t be there because she was sick and on voice rest. It is always a pleasure getting to talk to the guys, so while I of course wish Hayley could’ve been there, it was still a great meet and greet. After the meet and greet, the three of us got barricade. We were once again in front of Taylor (I always go for the sides because I’m not about to get pushed around like I was when I was a teenager if I were to stand in the center). Behind us were two more people I have known for years because of Paramore, Jonesy and Duckie. It was like a family reunion, because Cristina, who I used to go to almost every Paramore show with back in the day was also there. I hadn’t seen her in years. The show started and you wouldn’t have guessed that Hayley was sick. She was killing it. Misery Business was sounding great.. and I thought it was just going to be another fabulous show. During the song, Hayley stopped singing to talk to the crowd and explained how sick she was.. and then said someone from the crowd was going to go up and sing the rest of the song. They haven’t been pulling people up for Misery Business, so what a great experience for whoever gets up… I knew it wasn’t going to be me, I had just been up on stage. Well, Hayley walks over and asks me if I want to go up on stage. I of course said YES. Hayley then had security pull me up on stage to have me sing. Honestly this was the craziest moment of my life. I went from thinking how stoked I was forever was going to get on stage, and then I ended up being that person. I am normally a very shy person, but that moment consumed me and I just went for it. I didn’t care that I can’t sing well, or anything. I had the time of my life. Headbanging with Hayley was one of the coolest experiences. I experienced the rest of the show in the back of the pit with some awesome people I had met. Everyone was so nice, I couldn’t believe it. The rest of the show was great. Like I said, if Hayley hadn’t have told the crowd she was sick, you wouldn’t have guessed. She killed it up there. I know if I was recovering from food poisoning, I literally wouldn’t have been able to get out of bed, neverless perform like that. After the show a bunch of us went the Hard Rock Cafe and had some drinks and to hang out. It was a great ending to the most perfect day. Once I got back to the hotel room, I started immediately searching for videos and pictures. The pictures have been great. I cannot believe someone captured Hayley and I headbanging together. The experience really hit me when I found a video of it. I was in the moment so much that I couldn’t hear what Hayley was saying about me when I was going up on stage. The fact that she said I was one of their good friends made me want to tear up. Over the past 7 years they have meant so much to me… and for them to consider me like that, it is so humbling. Then Hayley told the crowd it was my 32nd Paramore show. I also cannot believe I yelled “Hey Taylor!” hah.. but really, I cannot wait to see Laura’s video of it (she was on barricade) and I will post that as soon as I get it from her. I don’t know if anyone from Paramore will see this, but if they do all I have to say is Thank You. Thank you for sticking around, and pushing through any and all drama. I was 14 the first time I heard and saw Paramore for the first time, and now that I am 21, I cannot think of a better band to have listened to during my teenage years, and now continuing on into my adult life.

So happy for you!!
